Astroscale is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Systems Engineer for their spacecraft systems team at the Harwell, UK office in Didcot. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to contribute to solving the critical issue of orbital debris and shaping mission solutions from a systems perspective. As a senior member, you’ll lead key aspects of project work, mentor junior engineers, and immediately contribute to ongoing missions. Responsibilities include spacecraft mission and system design, validation and verification of thermal, mechanical, and propulsion subsystems, mission analysis, trade-off studies, and support for testing, documentation, and bid work. You’ll collaborate with teams across Astroscale’s global offices, including potential travel to Japan and Europe. Required qualifications include a degree in systems or electrical engineering, 10+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, deep understanding of satellite subsystems, lifecycle processes, and systems documentation, and awareness of AIT processes. Desirable skills include knowledge of debris removal missions, experience with tools like ModelSim or Matlab, and proficiency in coding/scripting such as Python.
