Quintessential Design Service Limited (QDSL) is hiring a Vehicle Fleet Support Engineer to provide real-time technical support for prototype vehicle fleets in the West Midlands, UK. This role focuses on diagnosing, triaging, and resolving propulsion system issues across electric (EV), hybrid (PHEV/MHEV), and internal combustion engine (ICE) platforms to ensure vehicles are test-ready and operating at peak performance. The engineer will collaborate closely with test engineers, R&D teams, and mechanics to perform root cause analysis, support software and firmware updates, interpret vehicle logs, and maintain service documentation. Responsibilities also include supporting testing schedules, updating configurations, managing fleet readiness reports, and occasionally traveling to remote testing locations. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in supporting prototype or production vehicle fleets, strong hands-on knowledge of propulsion systems, diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer, and a clear understanding of vehicle ECUs and control systems. The role demands a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication, time management, and technical reporting skills. A bachelor’s degree in automotive, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) is required.
