Contribute to the project “Enabling Net Zero and the AI Revolution with Ultra-Low Energy 2D Materials and Devices” to develop next-generation low-power digital electronic devices under Professor David Moran. Responsibilities include planning and conducting research individually or collaboratively in line with project deliverables and research strategy, analyzing and interpreting data, maintaining records and databases, drafting technical and progress reports, contributing to high-quality publications, assisting in research proposals, collaborating with colleagues across the School/College/University, mentoring and training undergraduate/postgraduate students, performing administrative tasks such as budget management, carrying out modest teaching activities, and keeping up to date with advances in the field. For Grade 7, the role involves higher independence, leading research, developing research strategies, securing funding, mentoring colleagues, and establishing an emerging track record of publications. Required qualifications include an honours degree or PhD in a relevant discipline, knowledge of electronic semiconductor device operation and characterization, research creativity, strong communication and interpersonal skills, IT and data analysis skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience in semiconductor processing, independent research, and scientific writing. The role requires delivering quality outputs in a timely manner, contributing to publications, and developing an international research reputation.
