The Testing & Validation Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the ideal testing setup and environment (HITL) for testing loads, controls simulations, and software release tests. The role involves developing testing and validation processes, required tools, and release integration support, including creating smoke test and regression test plans, ensuring rigorous test cases, and documenting reports. The engineer will collaborate with controls/software engineers to co-create unit tests and feature tests, manage the entire software testing process throughout the development life cycle (SDLC), and perform automation testing. The engineer will be tasked with building and maintaining the necessary hardware and IT infrastructure for testing turbine control software and SCADA online control kits. Key responsibilities include integrating the testing process into the SDLC, developing test supporting tools, enhancing the testing and validation process, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The engineer will also develop and maintain standard test cases and automation test cases, support loads/controls evaluation simulations, and ensure the integration of engineering tools. The position requires knowledge of SCADA technology, PLCs, communication protocols like OPC, IEC, Modbus, and Profibus, and software development and testing. Additionally, the engineer will use automation tools like QTP, Selenium, and Test Complete, and have experience with scripting in languages like Ruby, Python, or Perl. The position requires experience in the wind industry, and the ideal candidate will have expertise in version handling tools like Git and SVN.
