Quintessential Design Service Limited is hiring a Test & Validation Engineer to work onsite in the West Midlands, UK, with a salary range of £43,000 to £55,000 annually. This permanent role focuses on testing and validating MHEV, PHEV, and BEV propulsion systems using both manual and automated methods. The ideal candidate must have experience in VIL (Vehicle-in-the-Loop), PIL (Powertrain-in-Loop), gas path emissions testing for petrol engines, and strong capabilities in test rig specification, instrumentation setup, and test execution. Responsibilities include creating and executing detailed test plans for propulsion components, developing automated test frameworks, performing emissions and hybrid system testing, managing test schedules, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and ensuring safety and compliance throughout the testing process. Candidates must be proficient in using CAN, LIN, and diagnostic tools like CANalyzer or INCA, and have at least 5 years of experience in the automotive or propulsion testing domain. Familiarity with ISO standards, WLTP, RDE testing procedures, and test frameworks like the V-Model is desirable. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in teams are essential.
