Quintessential Design Service Limited (QDSL) is seeking a skilled Test & Validation Engineer to join their team in the West Midlands, UK. This role focuses on testing and validating MHEV, PHEV, BEV, and petrol-based propulsion systems using both manual and automated testing approaches, including VIL (Vehicle-in-the-Loop), PIL (Powertrain-in-Loop), and emissions testing. Responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, setting up test rigs and instrumentation, implementing automation frameworks, conducting root cause analysis for hardware/software issues, and ensuring traceability between requirements and test results. The engineer will work closely with design, systems, and software teams, support prototype development, conduct design analysis within agile frameworks, and contribute to validation and verification processes aligned with industry standards. Required experience includes 5+ years in automotive or propulsion system testing, hands-on expertise in CAN, LIN, HIL systems, tools like INCA and CANalyzer, and a strong understanding of hybrid and electric propulsion technologies. Candidates should hold a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and possess excellent problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills. The position offers a permanent contract with a competitive salary between £43,000 and £55,000, a pension scheme, 28 days of annual and bank holidays, and visa sponsorship for eligible UK residents.
