To provide technical support to the Particle Physics Experiment (PPE) group of the University of Glasgow to support the development and construction of the upgraded ATLAS tracking detectors, and the wider in-house detector development activities of the Group. To provide technical support in the assembly of the detector modules, including wire-bonding, precision gluing and metrology. To provide support for the design and operation of systems for the characterization of sensors and assembled detector modules. To define work and perform tasks autonomously and report weekly at the group meetings. Contribute to the acquisition, set up, and maintenance of equipment/systems. As necessary with research staff, carry out data analysis of a range of data, and identifying trends, problems and anomalies. Present findings accurately. Contribute to the delivery of research objectives of the ATLAS group. This will focus on the development of tools and techniques for assembling and testing silicon detector module, and undertaking production of silicon modules for the ATLAS Upgrade.
