The University of Glasgow is seeking a Technician to manage the technical aspects of tissue immunology research funded by the UKRI-MRC and ZonMW ARTHEMIS consortium on behalf of the Principal Investigator, Professor Mariola Kurowska-Stolarska. The role involves providing specialist technical expertise, including setting up and analyzing patient-derived tissue organoids and tissue-specific transgenic mice models, designing and implementing experiments, creating and maintaining technical resources, troubleshooting complex technical problems, conducting detailed data analysis, and presenting findings to the research group or in publications. The Technician will provide technical advice and training to staff and students, manage laboratory operations and budgets, ensure compliance with Health and Safety and other relevant legislation, and work collaboratively to support the delivery of research objectives and broader strategic aims of the University. Candidates are required to have significant expertise in tissue organoids, organ-on-chip systems, and/or transgenic mouse models, as well as strong flow cytometry and analytical skills, attention to detail, and proven experience in managing complex technical work. The post is full-time, open-ended with funding available until 1st June 2029, and may be eligible for UK Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for candidates meeting eligibility requirements.
