Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and proud part of the University of Cambridge, is seeking a highly skilled Team Lead for Content Tools to take ownership of a critical production-ready internal application and lead a team in shaping, designing, and delivering cutting-edge AI-driven solutions that enhance learning and assessment content generation and management processes. In this permanent hybrid role based in Cambridge, with a salary between £49,000 and £65,500, you will be responsible for setting technical direction, driving architectural strategy, leading and mentoring a team of 2–6 members, and ensuring solutions align with both immediate business requirements and long-term technical vision. Your work will involve balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical contributions, including building, deploying, and managing LLM-powered applications, utilising TypeScript, AWS, and low-code/no-code tools. Collaborating with Product Owners, senior stakeholders, and end-users, you will translate product vision into robust technical solutions, oversee agile practices, and maintain best practices for performance, scalability, and security. We are committed to continuous improvement and embrace modern software engineering approaches including automated testing, cloud infrastructure, and production-ready deployments. As a leader, you will foster team growth through knowledge sharing, technical mentoring, and promoting an inclusive, empowering culture where every voice is valued. This role is ideal for an experienced technical leader with deep expertise in AI and machine learning technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for driving innovation. In return, we offer a world-class benefits package, including 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, private medical and permanent health insurance, discretionary bonus, pension scheme, life assurance, green travel schemes, and flexible hybrid working.
