Jisc is hiring a Principal Statistical Analyst to analyse complex higher education datasets and deliver high-quality statistical insights that support UK education and research. The role involves leading advanced and challenging analytical work packages, planning and scheduling projects, setting priorities, mentoring junior analysts, and providing expert statistical guidance across the organisation. You will develop strong subject-matter expertise in HESA data, understand the wider higher education landscape, and work closely with stakeholders to resolve issues and provide data-driven advice. Responsibilities include developing and improving statistical measures, products, and processes, implementing efficient and reproducible analytical pipelines, performing advanced data manipulation and trend analysis using SQL, Python or R, quality assuring datasets, and enhancing statistical outputs and visualisations using tools such as Excel, Tableau or Power BI. The role supports digital and data transformation initiatives, contributes to strategic decision-making, and may include line management duties, all within a flexible hybrid working environment across the UK, with visa sponsorship available under the Skilled Worker route.
