Mistral AI is hiring a Software Engineer, Product (Python) to join its growing team and contribute to building and enhancing its core platform, including APIs, developer console, AI tooling, connectors, observability, user admin and billing, and partnerships. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend features, implementing secure and efficient system architectures, and ensuring seamless integration with front-end systems. Engineers will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software, solve complex technical challenges, and develop scalable, fault-tolerant solutions that improve performance and reliability. Candidates should bring 5+ years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, strong proficiency in Python with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask, and experience with large-scale distributed systems, databases, caching, and messaging systems. Ideal candidates may also have experience in frontend development (Typescript, React, NextJS), infrastructure management (Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform), or AI/ML engineering. Strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, ownership, and a collaborative mindset are key. The position is primarily based in Paris with relocation encouraged, though remote work is possible in France, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, and Italy with regular Paris office visits.
