An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Design Factory at Aston University, which provides students with the chance to work on real-world projects using industrially relevant technology platforms and supports academics in achieving transformational impact by bridging the gap between research and real-world stakeholders. As a Software Developer, you will provide technical leadership to scope, manage, and deliver projects, while also mentoring project teams including student placements and interns to ensure high-quality project delivery that meets sponsor expectations. You will contribute to planning and managing the technical infrastructure of the digital lab, liaise with external stakeholders in support of the lab director, and act as a mentor to students in preparing for employability, such as job applications, technical interviews, and technical talks. The role may also involve occasional lectures and workshops to Computer Science students on industrially relevant technologies. This full-time fixed-term post offers a salary of £38,784 to £46,049 per annum and may meet the requirements for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, with eligibility assessed at the shortlisting stage.
