Sequence is building an AI-powered revenue platform for modern finance teams, already processing over $1 billion in annual invoice volume and trusted by high-growth companies like Cognition, incident.io, and MoonPay. As a Product Engineer, you will take ownership end-to-end of production backend systems, designing and shipping features that matter to real customers, including AI-powered approval workflows that translate natural-language rules into deterministic business logic, intelligent collections agents that autonomously handle overdue payments, and scalable billing infrastructure capable of handling 10x current throughput while maintaining reliability and cost-efficiency. You will work with a lean, high-performance team using Kotlin, Spring Boot, Http4k, Postgres, BigQuery, and Google Cloud, making critical technical decisions about distributed systems, event stream processing, and infrastructure reliability. The role requires strong product sense, clear communication, comfort with ambiguity, and a customer-first mindset. You will collaborate closely with design, product, and cross-functional engineers, participate in system design, and help shape fundamental architecture, all while working in a hybrid environment in London or New York.
