Viridien is hiring a Senior Virtualization System Specialist to support its UK HPC Hub, with a focus on operating, monitoring, and optimizing Nutanix-based virtualization infrastructure for both High Performance Computing (HPC) and enterprise workloads. The role requires expertise in virtualization platforms (Nutanix preferred, VMware considered), Debian Linux and Windows Server administration, backup technologies (Veeam preferred), disaster recovery, compliance, and performance tuning. Responsibilities include capacity planning, lifecycle management, documentation, ITIL-aligned change control, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have a degree in Computer Science or related fields, 5+ years of enterprise virtualization experience, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication. Certifications (e.g., Nutanix Certified Professional), HPC experience, and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, Zabbix, or ITIL practices are desirable.
