An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a leading space engineering team developing the infrastructure and software that enable mission-critical spacecraft operations. This high-impact role offers significant autonomy, where you will lead the development of ground systems from concept through to maintenance, shaping the technology that supports safe and efficient mission control, and acting as a bridge between Mission & Systems Engineering and Operations to ensure ground systems are robust, integrated, and ready for all phases of flight operations. The position suits engineers with a strong understanding of ground segment architecture and experience across multiple missions, ready to take ownership, mentor others, and work in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Key responsibilities include leading and contributing to the development of ground systems such as Mission Control, Mission Planning, and Ground Station Interface Systems, defining ground segment requirements, acting as technical lead or product owner, following Agile (SCRUM) methodologies, developing and maintaining project documentation, supporting verification, validation, system integration, simulation campaigns, providing technical support and training to operations teams, and troubleshooting operational ground segment components. Candidates should have a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a relevant engineering discipline, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in satellite ground systems engineering, strong understanding of ground segment architecture, solid grasp of requirements engineering, system integration, verification and validation, excellent communication and reporting skills, and fluency in English. Desirable skills include experience with Mission Control Systems (preferably SCOS-2000-based), automation and mission planning systems, ground stations and antenna communications, satellite operations, ECSS and CCSDS standards, programming experience in C++ or Java, Linux system administration and scripting, and Agile/SCRUM environments.
