The Senior Project Manager role at the University of Glasgow reports to the Head of Project Delivery within the Programme Delivery directorate, working in partnership with the Information Security Team and across multi-functional teams. This role requires strong Project Management and Business Analysis skills to manage and drive the Information Security Controls Programme across the University, leading the delivery of projects within agreed timescales, budgets, and scope, managing several large-scale organisational, process, systems, and data projects across all Colleges/University Services and central functions, supervising project staff resources including external parties, developing plans, allocating work, monitoring progress, and initiating corrective actions as required. The role involves communicating with sponsors and stakeholders, managing expectations, deploying risk management approaches, ensuring quality management processes, reporting to Project Boards and senior forums, and providing leadership in business process mapping and improvement. Essential qualifications include extensive knowledge of change projects, relevant degree or postgraduate qualification, project management qualification, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, IT system development lifecycle, business process mapping, and information security controls. Desirable qualifications include SCRUM or PRINCE2 certifications, ITIL Foundation, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, CISP or CISM, and experience in higher education. Key skills include managing complex information security, resilience, or compliance improvement projects, creating project plans, analytical and problem-solving abilities, leading change management, relationship management, leadership and motivational skills, effective negotiation, and communication skills. Experience required includes managing complex planning projects in large organisations, using Agile tools, leading business analysis, managing organisation-wide data-centric programmes, running project teams of 20+ people, and writing successful business cases. The position is full-time, fixed-term for up to 24 months, and may be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
