About the job

Step into a world where advanced automation meets real-world impact by joining Automation Experts Ltd, a global technology leader renowned for delivering complex, high-performance automation solutions across a wide range of industries. As a Senior Project Manager based in Dundee, Scotland, you will play a pivotal role in leading the end-to-end delivery of sophisticated engineering and automation projects, from project initiation through to final acceptance testing. In this critical leadership position, you will act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding and managing their technical and commercial needs, while overseeing budgets, validating financials, and maintaining cost control. You will be responsible for identifying potential risks early and implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure smooth and timely execution. You’ll develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including labour forecasts, risk registers, schedules, change management logs, and lessons learned. A key part of the role includes building and managing detailed project schedules using tools such as MS Project, with a strong focus on tracking the critical path. You will provide regular progress updates and risk assessments to senior leadership and clients, manage scope changes through formal Change Control processes, and lead close-out reviews to capture insights and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring proven project management experience in sectors such as bespoke capital equipment, industrial automation, or engineering systems, along with a strong technical understanding of capital equipment engineering and automation technologies. You should possess a degree or equivalent qualification, be proficient in project planning methodologies, and demonstrate strong commercial awareness including experience with financial and contractual elements of projects. Analytical thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit are essential, along with a customer-focused approach and a continuous improvement mindset. In return, the company offers a competitive salary between £70,000 and £100,000 plus approximately 10% bonus and profit share, along with relocation assistance and Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for experienced professionals already based in the UK. This is an exceptional opportunity to accelerate your career, gain international exposure, work with cutting-edge technologies, and be part of a collaborative, innovation-driven team shaping the future of automation.
