This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly experienced Senior PDK Engineer to join a world-leading semiconductor company based in Midlothian, near Edinburgh, Scotland. As part of a globally recognised chip development team focused on high-performance ASICs, the Senior PDK (Process Design Kit) Engineer will take on a key role, acting as the main UK contact for PDK-related matters while working closely with a counterpart team in the United States. The role will involve developing and integrating technology files, models, and verification decks such as DRC (Design Rule Check) and LVS (Layout Versus Schematic), supporting tapeouts, and collaborating with design and layout teams to ensure smooth workflows and deliverables. This position also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the long-term growth and direction of the PDK group. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in PDK development, CAD tool customisation, and analog/mixed-signal IC design. A strong background in installation, validation, and customisation of PDKs is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
