Astroscale UK is seeking a Senior Mission Operations Engineer to join its team in Harwell, responsible for all phases of current and future missions including ELSA-M and COSMIC. The role covers a broad range of tasks usually split between spacecraft operations engineers, controllers, analysts, mission managers, operations preparation engineers, and system engineers. Responsibilities include acting as operations technical lead, mentoring team members, performing routine and critical real-time spacecraft operations, developing operational tools, participating in mission planning and execution, preparing operations documentation, contributing to mission concepts, analyzing spacecraft health and performance, investigating anomalies, and participating in 24/7 shifts during critical mission phases. Candidates should have 5–10 years of satellite industry experience, knowledge of spacecraft subsystems (AOCS/GNC, OBDH), mission control systems, anomaly resolution, ECSS standards, and the ability to operate under high-stress conditions.
