The Senior ML Ops Engineer at Cambridge University Press & Assessment will be responsible for maintaining and managing the production infrastructure and operations of machine learning applications within the Cambridge English AI department. This role comes after the handover from external contractors and is focused on ensuring system reliability, security compliance, and efficient resource management. The engineer will design and implement cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability and efficiency, develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines, and establish robust monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems. Additionally, the role includes ensuring security compliance and proper data handling in accordance with educational data protection standards, optimizing infrastructure costs, and supporting the development team with troubleshooting and infrastructure solutions. The position also requires the implementation of disaster recovery strategies and the maintenance of infrastructure as code practices. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing cloud-based systems and automation.
