Stress Man Limited is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with 6-12 years of experience in rotating turbo-machinery, gas turbine, and aero design and stress analysis. The role involves executing design and development projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for requirements capture and project execution, preferably including experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Responsibilities include designing and modifying key multi-spool low-pressure compressor components such as discs, stators, aerofoils, seals, and attaching parts, preparing certification reports and design record books, conducting design trade studies, iterating existing architectures for performance, material, weight, cost, aerodynamic, and thermal improvements, performing 2D and 3D stress analysis using advanced modeling techniques, and collaborating with internal teams in stress analysis, life management, and materials to meet project requirements. The engineer will also be responsible for technical authoring, implementing gas turbine engine design and repair solutions, supporting Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) shops, and performing duties both at the company’s offices and client sites across the UK. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and SML offers Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship for highly skilled candidates, with reimbursement for expenses while working onsite.
