Join Monzo’s Financial Crime team as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist, where you will play a critical role in protecting customers and the company by designing, deploying, and maintaining advanced machine learning models to detect fraud, scams, and other financial crime. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, backend engineers, product managers, and risk specialists to develop scalable, end-to-end solutions that adapt to evolving crime patterns while minimizing impact on legitimate users and operational costs. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and production-grade ML architectures such as deep learning, graph-based, or sequence-based models, with a proven track record of delivering measurable business impact. You will take ownership of the full lifecycle of ML solutions, from problem definition to production deployment, continuously monitoring performance and iterating to improve accuracy and efficiency. You will also contribute to shaping the ML strategy, mentor junior team members, and stay abreast of cutting-edge developments in machine learning and AI.
