The Senior Machine Learning Scientist role within the Borrowing team is crucial to improving customer and business outcomes through advanced automated decision-making. This role focuses on credit risk modeling, pricing, collections, and marketing optimization by leveraging machine learning and statistical methods. You will own multiple ML applications end-to-end, from experiment design and data preparation to deployment and monitoring, working alongside experienced scientists, engineers, analysts, and product managers. Monzo’s tech stack includes Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, dbt, Python, and Go, and offers a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and autonomy. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and Python skills, expertise in statistical and machine learning models such as gradient boosted trees and neural networks, and experience with business-critical model development, ideally in regulated industries.
