The Francis Crick Institute seeks a highly motivated Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (SLRS) to join the Microfluidics and Biomaterials team within the Making Lab. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for a candidate with strong experience in bioengineering, tissue engineering, microfabrication, and microfluidics. The successful applicant will lead projects that involve the design, simulation, fabrication, and validation of in vitro platforms and microphysiological systems, collaborating closely with Crick’s interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include initiating and managing R&D projects, co-developing 3D human models, delivering technical services in microfluidics and biomaterials, and integrating advanced systems for real-time biological experimentation. Applicants must have a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field such as biomedical engineering or nanotechnology and extensive hands-on experience in microfluidic platforms, biomaterials, and device development.
