About the job

The Francis Crick Institute is Europe’s largest biomedical research institute focused on pioneering research to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases such as cancer, heart disease, infectious diseases, and neurodegenerative conditions. This full-time, three-year fixed-term Senior Laboratory Research Scientist position in the Boulton lab centers on investigating the alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT) mechanism present in certain cancers. The role involves target validation, developing cellular assays, optimizing chemical tools, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and industry experts to translate basic research into potential therapies. The position offers a dynamic and creative work environment with state-of-the-art facilities, fostering innovation, collaboration, and career development. Candidates ideally have a PhD in cell or molecular biology, experience with mammalian cell culture, and telomere biology knowledge. The Francis Crick Institute is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity and provides comprehensive benefits including visa sponsorship, generous leave, pension schemes, health and well-being support, childcare assistance, and professional development opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research in London with support for work visa sponsorship.
