Astroscale is seeking an experienced Senior Ground Segment Systems Engineer to join their team in Didcot, Oxfordshire (Hybrid). The role involves leading and participating in the development, integration, verification, and maintenance of satellite ground systems, including mission control, planning systems, and ground station interfaces. The candidate will interface with internal teams, external suppliers, and operations teams, providing technical expertise, mentoring, and support for operational activities to ensure safe and efficient satellite missions. Responsibilities include deriving requirements, managing system development using Agile methodology, performing verification and validation, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting investment and expansion projects. Candidates must have a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a relevant engineering discipline, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in satellite ground systems and the space sector, excellent communication and analytical skills, and proficiency in system integration, requirements engineering, and verification. Experience with mission control systems, automation, ground stations, satellite operations, and programming (C++/Java) is desirable.
