Nu Quantum Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the development of novel quantum networking hardware. The role involves designing, manufacturing, inspecting, and testing prototypes; creating assembly, test, and alignment fixtures with electronic, optical, and mechanical elements; leading technical workstreams; mentoring team members; integrating optical devices into opto-mechanical assemblies; designing precision components with µm tolerances; enabling user-friendly designs; developing systems for UHV and cryogenic environments; and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should have undergraduate or postgraduate STEM qualifications, proficiency in 3D CAD, experience in mechanical drawings, prototyping, and Design for Manufacture/Assembly. Desirable skills include SolidWorks CAD, UHV/cryogenic systems, MEMS design, mechanical FEA, tolerance and failure mode analysis, and thermal/vibration design.
