This full-time, on-site Senior Control Engineer position at Automation Experts Ltd in Northern Ireland offers an exciting opportunity to take the technical lead on cutting-edge automated machinery projects for a global engineering group. With a competitive salary of £60,000 to £80,000 plus profit share, overtime, and a full benefits package, this role involves designing and developing PLC control and safety systems that comply with international standards, programming and commissioning industrial robots such as KUKA, Fanuc, and ABB, and creating detailed test plans and documentation. You will lead factory and on-site testing while working closely with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Candidates should have over five years of experience in industrial automation and control systems—ideally with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs (although training for other platforms is available)—and a track record of delivering complex machine control projects. Hands-on design experience with production machinery, knowledge of vision systems, HMIs, robotics, or motion control, and a commercial mindset with customer-facing skills are essential.
