IC Resources is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior ASIC Design Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Bristol, England. With a highly competitive salary range of £55,000 to £85,000 depending on experience, plus a bonus scheme and the possibility of visa sponsorship for candidates already residing and working in the UK, this role is ideal for professionals seeking to elevate their careers in digital hardware development. The role is central to designing next-generation, market-leading chips across a broad range of applications. As a Senior ASIC Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the full development lifecycle, including architecting and designing advanced digital systems, writing and optimizing RTL code, debugging hardware modules, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will be required to write detailed microarchitecture specifications and execution plans, engage in performance optimization, and use cutting-edge methodologies and tools to implement scalable and efficient ASIC solutions. You’ll be expected to bring solid expertise in digital IC design, strong hands-on experience with RTL using SystemVerilog, and proficiency with hardware design languages such as C++, Python, Perl, or TCL. A background in CPU, GPU, DSP, or FPU architecture is highly desirable, along with familiarity with modern verification environments and tools like UVM, formal verification, assertions, and functional coverage. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong debugging skills, the ability to work on IP or SoC-level projects, and an understanding of silicon-level testing strategies. Beyond technical responsibilities, this role includes mentoring junior engineers, working collaboratively across teams, and supporting the continuous enhancement of internal design practices.
