Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is offering a permanent full-time opportunity for a Senior Technician (Infrastructure) to join its expanding Infrastructure Systems Team. This role involves providing day-to-day support for existing infrastructure services, managing enterprise backup solutions using tools like Commvault and Backup Exec, overseeing hardware installations and environmental monitoring at two data centre sites, and responding to incidents and service requests in line with ITIL best practices. The technician will also support and administer server platforms, perform data recovery, transport data tapes between sites, and work closely with internal IT teams, service providers, and suppliers. Additional responsibilities include assisting with infrastructure projects such as system upgrades and platform migrations, contributing to documentation, and identifying process improvement opportunities. Candidates should have experience working in a large IT environment with strong technical skills in infrastructure systems, server hardware, and backup routines. A degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience is required, and an ITIL Foundation or MCSA in Server 2012 is desirable.
