We’re working with a well-established semiconductor company looking to expand their technical team by hiring a skilled RF Applications Engineer. This role is perfect for engineers with hands-on RF experience who want a customer-facing position involving diverse technical responsibilities that bridge design, support, and product expertise. The engineer will provide critical technical support for RF, microwave, and mmWave components up to 50GHz, working closely with engineering, sales, and product teams. Key tasks include performing lab-based device testing using RF equipment, applying impedance matching and Smith Chart analysis to solve real-world customer challenges, interpreting technical parameters such as S-parameters and noise figures, and working with wireless standards like 4G/5G, RFID, SatCom, and IoT protocols. The role also involves creating documentation, application notes, and training materials to support product adoption and providing feedback to influence product development. Candidates should have experience in RF engineering or a related field, with strong lab testing skills, circuit design competence, and familiarity with semiconductor technologies like GaAs, GaN, CMOS, and BiCMOS. The position is based in Somerset, UK, offers a competitive salary (£60,000 - £70,000), benefits including pension, private healthcare, free on-site parking, plus visa sponsorship and relocation support if needed.
