This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an RF Applications Engineer to join a well-established semiconductor company based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a global customer base by providing technical expertise across RF, microwave, and mmWave components, up to 50GHz, as well as broader analogue, mixed-signal, and digital baseband devices. You will work closely with engineering, sales, and product teams to advise on integration into cutting-edge designs, perform device testing using RF lab equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators, and power meters, and apply techniques like impedance matching and Smith Chart analysis. The role requires interpreting S-parameters, P1dB, IP3, EVM, ACP, BER, noise figure, and phase noise, along with understanding and supporting wireless standards including 802.11, 3GPP 4G/5G, RFID, SatCom, and IoT protocols. Candidates should have hands-on RF lab experience, familiarity with circuit design and PCB layout, and knowledge of technologies such as GaAs, GaN, CMOS, and BiCMOS. Additional responsibilities include simulation using tools like Keysight ADS, preparing documentation and training materials, and offering internal feedback to improve product development.
