The Research Technologist (Wind Tunnel) at the University of Glasgow will work at the UK National Wind Tunnel Facility (NWTF) within the James Watt School of Engineering, providing scientific and technical expertise for advanced experimental aerodynamics research. Responsibilities include planning and conducting research, experimental design, data collection and analysis, developing software for operational efficiency, supervising and mentoring students and staff, maintaining and calibrating wind tunnel instrumentation, contributing to research strategy, preparing publications, supporting commercial projects, and assisting with funding proposals. The candidate should hold a PhD in experimental aerodynamics or fluid mechanics, with extensive experience in wind tunnel operation, high-speed data acquisition, pressure/load measurement, optical methods, project leadership, and publication in peer-reviewed journals. The post is full-time, funded for up to 4 years, with a salary of £50,253–£58,225, and may provide UK Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
