About the job

The University of Leeds is hiring a Research Systems Adviser (Training and Engagement) to play a key role in delivering the EDCIS (Ensuring Data Compliance, Insights and Sharing) project—part of a major digital transformation initiative that supports the university’s 2020–2030 strategy and research culture goals. Based in the University Library and working closely with the Research and Innovation Service (RIS), the successful candidate will lead stakeholder training and engagement activities focused on implementing and enhancing research systems including Symplectic Elements and a new research data repository. This full-time, fixed-term role (until July 2027) involves planning and delivering training sessions, engaging academic and professional stakeholders, and supporting key EDCIS activities such as managing REF2029 submissions, improving equipment and activities data, and establishing a new research expertise database. The role requires collaboration with subject matter experts, suppliers, and technical teams to ensure successful adoption of research information systems and alignment with open research and digital transformation priorities. Ideal candidates will have strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, along with experience supporting the implementation of complex digital or research systems. The position offers a salary between £39,355 and £46,735 per annum and is based on the Leeds main campus with flexible and hybrid working options available. Importantly, this role qualifies for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Global Talent visa routes, making it open to qualified international applicants with relevant experience.
