This full-time fixed-term research position at the University of Leeds offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious researcher with expertise in Liquid Crystals, Chemistry, or closely related disciplines to contribute to cutting-edge projects in augmented reality and virtual reality materials. Working in collaboration with Merck Electronics KGa, the role involves the design, synthesis, optimisation, and characterisation of liquid crystals for optical devices, alongside internationally recognised academics. Candidates must hold (or be near completion of) a PhD and possess strong experience in liquid crystal synthesis, physics, and experimental techniques. The role requires excellent communication skills, as you will interact regularly with industry partners, contribute to publications and patents, and present findings. You will travel regularly to company sites in the UK and Germany.
