PhysicsX is a deep-tech company based in London with roots in numerical physics and Formula One, focused on accelerating hardware innovation through AI-driven simulation software. As a Research Data Scientist, you will work closely with machine learning engineers, simulation experts, and clients to transform complex physics and engineering problems into mathematical models. Your responsibilities include building predictive models for physical systems using cutting-edge machine learning techniques, especially deep learning and probabilistic methods. You'll take ownership of research streams, contribute to academic publications, and help deploy your models into production environments. Ideal candidates will have a PhD in computer science, machine learning, statistics, physics, or a related field, with hands-on experience in Python (NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, JAX), building models for high-dimensional data, and publishing in top-tier ML/AI conferences. PhysicsX offers a dynamic work culture with a flat hierarchy, competitive compensation, equity, and flexible working options. The company values diversity and supports underrepresented talent, including sponsoring bright women from disadvantaged backgrounds in STEM. This is a hybrid, full-time role based in London with occasional travel to customer sites and visa sponsorship available.
