The Research Data Manager – MVLS at the University of Glasgow will lead and support the creation, management, and curation of research data across the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. As part of the Research Computing as a Service (RCaaS) team, the role involves auditing and understanding complex datasets, translating findings into service requirements, building investment cases, implementing secure data infrastructure, and supporting its adoption. The postholder will work closely with researchers to promote FAIR data principles, provide expert guidance on managing clinical and sensitive data, and support research funding proposals. They will lead efforts related to data strategy, including electronic lab notebooks, anonymisation protocols, trusted research environments, and workflows involving AI and spatial biology. The role requires strong technical expertise in data systems, regulatory compliance, and communication, with a key emphasis on collaboration across technical, academic, and administrative teams. This is a full-time, fixed-term role for 24 months with a salary in Grade 8 (£49,559 – £57,422 per annum), based in Glasgow, and is eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
