The Research Computing Infrastructure Manager - MVLS at the University of Glasgow will provide both operational and strategic leadership in delivering research computing infrastructure services within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. This role includes oversight of high-performance computing (HPC), research data storage, and the development of sustainable infrastructure aligned with evolving research demands. The postholder will collaborate with MVLS researchers, Information Services, and senior stakeholders to ensure services meet complex multidisciplinary needs, including secure environments for clinical and sensitive data. Responsibilities involve leading delivery teams, engaging in outreach to align infrastructure with research needs, developing service roadmaps, securing funding, improving policies and delivery models, and managing vendor relationships. Applicants must demonstrate strong technical expertise in Linux/Unix servers, containerization, HPC systems, and research computing practices, alongside excellent leadership, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills. This full-time, open-ended post offers a salary range of £49,559 to £57,422 per annum and may be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under the UK visa rules.
