The University of Glasgow is seeking a Research Associate to join the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research, contributing to an ERC-funded project on picornaviral ribonucleoprotein complexes. The role involves planning and conducting advanced research in molecular virology, RNA biology, and computational data analysis, including generating protease-deficient viral mutants, integrating OMIC and RNA interactome data, supervising and mentoring students, collaborating internationally, producing high-quality publications, contributing to funding proposals, and participating in teaching and public outreach. Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent experience in molecular biology, virology, biochemistry, or microbiology, demonstrate strong technical skills in viral infection systems, molecular cloning, microscopy, RNA biology, and OMIC data analysis, and have excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative abilities. The position is full-time, funded until 30 November 2027, and may be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for candidates needing UK work authorization.
