Aston University is seeking a highly accomplished Professor in Photonics to join the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies (AiPT), one of the largest photonics research centers in the UK. The institute is known for its pioneering work in advanced fibre grating devices, high-speed optical transmission, nonlinear photonics, biomedical photonics, optical frequency comb technologies, and more. The successful candidate will lead cutting-edge research, secure external funding, collaborate with industry partners, and contribute to teaching programs. Applicants should have a strong track record of international publications, research leadership, industry collaboration, and technology commercialization. The role also involves mentoring junior researchers, developing new research programs, and expanding photonics-related teaching courses. This is a full-time, permanent position based at the Aston University Main Campus with a salary ranging from £65,632 to £101,647 per annum. The job is eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
