Techmunity is hiring a Principal Backend Engineer for a Series A YC-backed fintech startup processing over 20 million financial transactions daily for fast-growing lenders and fintechs globally. This is a hands-on individual contributor role working closely with the CTO and Head of Engineering to own architectural decisions, shape the platform, and set the technical direction for scaling from hundreds to thousands of customers. The role requires strong Python experience, expertise in distributed systems, multi-tenancy, high-throughput ML pipelines, and handling sensitive financial data at scale. The tech stack includes Python, GCP/AWS, Terraform, and LLM/ML pipelines. Visa sponsorship is available, and the role is based in Central London with hybrid work (2 days/week in office).
