microTECH Global is seeking a Senior Principal Photonics Engineer to lead the design and development of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) and advanced III-V photonic components in Suffolk, UK, with visa sponsorship available. Responsibilities include leading R&D for next-generation photonic devices, collaborating with academic and industry partners, defining technical direction for major projects, analyzing new applications of III-V photonic and IC technology, implementing advanced design, simulation, and characterization approaches, and working with teams across Design, Process, Fabrication, and Test for seamless execution. Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in photonics focusing on III-V device development, expertise in laser diodes, modulators, detectors, amplifiers, or fiber-based technologies, deep knowledge of optical communication and consumer photonics markets, a PhD in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field, strong understanding of III-V optoelectronic device physics, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and epitaxy methods, and hands-on experience in design and characterization of optoelectronic devices including DC and RF analysis.
