As a Principal CAD Engineer, the candidate will lead the design and development of Body in White (BIW), body interior/exterior, and door systems. The role involves creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings with high precision, adhering to GD&T standards, and ensuring manufacturability and structural integrity. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including CAE, manufacturing, and quality, supporting activities such as DVP&R, DFMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis throughout the development cycle. Additional responsibilities include conducting design reviews, mentoring junior engineers, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality CAD outputs, and contributing to innovative solutions that meet both technical and aesthetic automotive standards. The position requires extensive experience in automotive design, a strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, proficiency in PLM tools like Teamcenter, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
