An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced MMIC Engineer to join a leading compound semiconductor design team located in Cambridgeshire, England. This permanent position offers the chance to be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment that is deeply involved in the research, development, and delivery of high-reliability RF and microwave integrated circuits (ICs) and modules. The role is highly technical and hands-on, perfect for individuals who are passionate about advanced semiconductor technology and want to contribute meaningfully to both internal R&D programs and external customer-focused projects. As an MMIC Engineer, you will engage in the full product development lifecycle – including circuit design, simulation, layout, tape-out, and lab validation. You will work with a team of skilled engineers to design and evaluate Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs) using GaAs or GaN technologies. The position requires you to contribute to technical discussions, assist with business development by supporting pre-sales efforts, and actively participate in strategic product development planning. Key responsibilities include designing and simulating RF/MMIC circuits using tools such as ADS, Microwave Office, or similar platforms; evaluating and testing circuit performance; documenting results and presenting technical insights to stakeholders. A collaborative mindset, commercial awareness, and attention to quality and project timelines are essential to success in this role. To qualify, candidates should have a degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of commercial MMIC design experience. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are also important. In return, the company offers a competitive salary in the range of £50,000 to £60,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes 25 days of annual leave (plus public holidays), private healthcare, pension contributions, a share option scheme, and death-in-service cover.
