Astroscale is hiring a Senior Mission Operations Engineer to play a key role in planning, developing, and executing mission operations for pioneering space-sustainability missions, including ELSA-M and COSMIC. The engineer will lead real-time spacecraft operations, support commissioning, maintenance, and anomaly recovery, and contribute to building mission-critical tools, procedures, timelines, and operational products. The role involves coordinating across multidisciplinary teams, preparing and validating operational plans, analysing telemetry and system performance, executing command sequences safely, and ensuring mission readiness during all phases of spacecraft operation. The engineer will also support simulations, rehearsals, risk reviews, technical documentation, and continuous process improvement while mentoring junior team members. This position requires strong experience in satellite operations, space systems engineering, and mission planning, along with the ability to work in a high-reliability, fast-paced environment as Astroscale develops cutting-edge services that remove orbital debris and enable sustainable space activities.
