Join the UK Astronomy Technology Centre (UK ATC) as a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to work on the design and production of world-class astronomical instruments and space-based projects. You will support the development of instruments for major telescopes and Earth observation satellites, performing CAD modeling, structural and thermal analyses, producing manufacturing drawings, and participating in assembly, integration, and testing. Under guidance from senior engineers, you will contribute to conceptual and detailed design of subsystems, documentation, design reviews, and vendor liaison. This role is part of the STFC Graduate Scheme, providing technical training, mentoring, and career development opportunities, with exposure to cutting-edge engineering in a multidisciplinary international environment, preparing you for professional recognition or chartered status.
