Orbex is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (AIT) to join its Assembly, Integration and Test team to support the design, analysis, and manufacturing of launch platform structures and ground system equipment. The role involves developing structural and mechanical components for the launch vehicle and ground support equipment, ensuring functionality, safety, and manufacturability, while conducting computational analysis of stress, dynamic loads, high temperatures, and vibration. Responsibilities also include supporting hardware prototype development and testing, managing multiple tasks in parallel, and producing detailed technical documentation. Candidates should have a background in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with experience across the full development lifecycle, proficiency in CAD tools (SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, NX), numerical analysis (Matlab/Simulink), and knowledge of aerospace materials. Hands-on experience with propulsion systems, fluid system testing, and familiarity with aerospace standards is desirable.
