The Materials Procurement Leader at GE Aerospace in Cardiff is a key leadership role that reports to the Site Supply Chain Business Leader, responsible for enabling effective delivery fulfillment, operational success, and customer satisfaction at the GE Wales facility. This role involves managing a team of Shop Floor, Materials, and Sourcing personnel, overseeing all aspects of materials management, including inventory supply, fulfillment, and setting departmental KPIs. The leader will be the point of escalation for sourcing, planning, and materials teams, driving key issues forward with both internal and external stakeholders. The role also includes ensuring full kit availability, overseeing material deflation, and managing subcontracts and new material streams. The successful candidate will need to drive positive change within the team, continuously improve processes, and align with the company’s business strategy. Additionally, the role requires expertise in ERP systems, particularly SAP, and the ability to effectively integrate customer commitments with shop and vendor capacities to ensure on-time deliveries. Staff management and development, along with leading material strategy for the product line, are essential parts of this position.
