Automation Experts Ltd is seeking a Machine Vision Control Engineer to join their high-performing engineering team delivering advanced machine vision solutions for bespoke industrial automation projects in Scotland or Northern Ireland. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing custom machine vision systems based on client requirements, integrating hardware and software components such as cameras, lighting, optics, and vision algorithms, supporting commissioning, testing (FAT/SAT), and on-site installation, and providing technical documentation, training materials, and end-user support. The engineer will collaborate with sales teams to define technical solutions and prepare proposals while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations. Candidates should have a degree or HNC in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering, experience with vision systems in industrial environments (e.g., Cognex, Keyence), proficiency in interpreting schematics and technical drawings, knowledge of real-time image processing and inspection systems, and ideally some exposure to AI/ML applications in vision systems. The position requires a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, strong communication and documentation skills, and a hands-on approach with a commitment to quality.
