Join Jisc as a Level 1 Network Operations Engineer and be part of the team behind Janet – the UK’s national research and education network. In this hybrid role, you’ll work closely with second and third-line support teams to ensure the availability, integrity, and performance of all network services delivered via the Janet network. You will proactively monitor customer networks, troubleshoot and resolve issues, manage incidents, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and security systems. With working hours from 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, this role offers a strong development path for candidates interested in IT infrastructure and networking. You’ll be expected to communicate effectively, explain technical issues to non-technical users, and have excellent problem-solving skills. Prior experience in technical support, helpdesk, or operations centre environments is advantageous, and studying towards an IT qualification (e.g., CCNA or Juniper) is desirable.
